Best Fanny Pack for Concealed Carry

Carrying a firearm while cycling can be a challenge – too much rubbing leaves bruising if carrying inside the waistband. So what was my solution? Enter the Hill People Gear Belt Pack – Snubby. Overall, I think this is a great piece of kit that accomplishes two goals:
1. Securely and comfortably support a compact firearm without needing to carry on-person
2. Allow for the carrying of support equipment like a less lethal

Deploying from pack

While carrying on your body is preferred, not all body types or physical activities allow for it. Situations change, and so we must adapt. The Snubby has a shock cord with a tied knot attached to the pull tab, making it easy to pull the zipper using gross motor action. The waist adjustments are extensive, allowing you to adjust to your specific requirements.

Mounting the Holster to the pack

CrossBreed Holsters offers their Mini Pac Mat which is a hard-sided Kydex holster with hook on the backside. The hook secures tightly to the inside of the Snubby pack and doesn’t budge when you draw the pistol. The allure of this setup is that we have a holster that properly covers the trigger housing, which allows for a consistent and secure draw every time.

Bag Contents

The contents of my bicycle carry is fairly light to keep the weight down. A less than lethal option such as Sabre’s Pepper Spray, the holster and a Glock 43 are the only contents I keep within my pack.
